I am from the vibrant heart of Cleveland, Ohio! I'm Mylonne Sullivan, a proud neurodivergent, Black woman deeply connected to my city. My journey as a licensed independent social worker (LISW) and licensed independent chemical dependency counselor (LICDC) has deeply influenced the creation of Melanated Drip Co. Each 20oz coffee mug I design is a labor of love, a piece of art that reflects my thoughts and beliefs about therapy and wellness within the black community, stemming from my specializations in trauma, substance use disorders (drug) treatment, aiding those impacted by the legal system, and my own mental health experiences. This venture is my way of extending traditional therapeutic and healing expressions beyond the confines of an office.
I've launched Melanated Drip Co. as my heartfelt mission for social change and need for rest. It's not just about selling coffee mugs; it's about offering a platform for healing and emotional release, which I also explore through my blog. After experiencing burnout in the demanding field of social work, I was driven to find new ways to engage my passion for advocacy and support for those navigating societal challenges. As well as produce additional streams of income without limitations. This led me to establish Melanated Drip Co., where every design is a personal touch from my life to those in my community. My business is a reflection of my career, expertise, and passion.
Who doesn’t drink tea or coffee? I wanted to figure out a creative way to grab my community's attention while promoting healing and therapy. Through social inequities to racial trauma and oppression, I provide tips and encourage my community to heal.
